Nutritional therapy & wellbeing coaching for midlife women

Nutrition was the key to balancing my hormones, and feeling like myself again.

Hi, I’m Helen

A registered Nutritional Therapist and Wellbeing Coach.

Believe me, I’ve been where you’re at now. The Google searches: menopause, perimenopause, hormones, ‘why am I so tired?’ and wishing that someday I’d wake up and feel like myself again. It’s what made me change my career and become a nutritional therapist & wellbeing coach. Since then I’ve been on a mission to helping women in midlife get to the root cause of their symptoms and feel better. Because I’ve been there and I know how tough it can be - but I also know things can change and you CAN turn your health around.

Why Am I So Tired?

A question I’d ask myself time and time again.

As I entered my 40’s, my mental and physical health really started to deteriorate. My energy seemed to plummet overnight, and I felt tired all the time, despite a full night’s sleep.

Added to this, my teenage anxiety reared its ugly head again, and I would get angry or tearful over the smallest things. My previously razor-sharp brain started to go to mush and I couldn’t concentrate or focus like I used to. I felt like I was falling to pieces.

My confidence was low, my relationship with my husband felt hard, and my performance at work took a huge dip

At the time, I didn't understand what was happening to me.

I enrolled on a nutrition course (I thought a career change might make me feel better!) and it was here that I began to understand the powerful impact of hormones on a women’s health, particularly in the years leading up to menopause.

I got my hormones tested and as I suspected they were all over the place - I had adrenal fatigue due to years of stress, an under-functioning thyroid, and sex hormone changes typical of perimenopause. Plus a few nutrient deficiencies thrown in for good measure!

Using the information I’d learnt at college, I began to implement specific dietary and lifestyle changes that helped bring my hormones back into balance.

Within weeks I couldn't believe how much better I felt.

My energy gradually came back, my moods stabilised, I felt brighter and generally more positive about life. In time, I started to feel better than I had done in years.

I’m now qualified as a nutritional therapist and wellbeing coach and I’m on a mission to share what I have learnt to inspire and empower women to regain control of their hormones and rebalance their body and mind, so they can transition through this stage of life with vitality, energy and confidence.

I am a firm believer that this stage of life shouldn’t be about struggle, decline or fading into the background; it’s an opportunity to take control of our health like never before, so we can truly step into our power and enjoy all that midlife has to offer.

Menopause coach in Cheshire

Is it actually menopause that’s making you feel this way?

I have asked myself that very question. And it’s easy to default to that when there are so many recognised symptoms of menopause.

However, there are a number of other things that could be causing your symptoms - blood sugar imbalances, adrenal dysregulation, an under-functioning thyroid, nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, poor digestion, an unhealthy gut, inflammation - the list goes on!

You deserve to get the root of what’s causing your fatigue, exhaustion, low mood, weight gain and other things that take you away from a happy, healthy you. Because it’s only when you address the real root cause, that you get well again.

So yes, I am a wellbeing coach for menopausal and midlife women. But I don’t assume everything is down to peri/menopause. I look at the bigger picture. No blinkers, no bias and no assumptions. Your body is unique and so is my approach to your health.
